Overview


Summer Guides provide a safe, informative, fun, and engaging hiking experience across the landscapes of Kosciuszko National Park. Within this role you will be required to engage positively with customers and provide knowledge and guidance about the resort and surrounding environments. All guides will need to be able to operate autonomously in remote and semi-remote environments being able to comfortably problem solve, manage groups of people and maintain a sensitive attitude towards all demographics and views.

You should be of a confident, knowledgeable nature when delivering interpretive information. Your enthusiasm for the environment and consciousness for conservation will support the delivery of 'leave no trace' ethics and will uphold all that the advanced eco-tourism certification values. We want you to share your passion for the outdoors and environment with others.

About the Role

* Maintain an engaging, observant, positive professional attitude
* Manage groups to ensure all guests have a safe and exceptional hiking experience
* Comfortably and confidently deal with difficult situations including injuries, adverse weather, and animals in remote situations
* Confidently navigate small groups via local knowledge, map and compass, and electronic aids
* Personalise interpretative information to better engage intrigues of guests
* Undertake and assisting in rescue and evacuation processes.


About You

* Guiding Experience
* Group leading experience
* Small group management
* Familiarity with Australian Alps
* Current NSW 'Working with Children Check'
* Full Driver's License
* Experience in a tourism-based customer service role
* Ability to work without immediate accessible supervision.
