Join us in shaping the future of healthcare in Regional Queensland.The Staff Specialist/Senior Medical Officer (Intensive Care) provides specialist intensive care medical services in the Intensive Care Unit, Bundaberg Hospital.Assist the Clinical Director (Intensive Care) and Executive Director Bundaberg and Rural Facilities to ensure clinical services provided are of the highest standard and delivered in an efficient and effective manner.Assist with the education and supervision of trainees and other medical staff, medical students, allied health and nursing staff.What we're looking for:Demonstrated ability to competently work as an expert staff specialist/senior medical officer in intensive care medicineDemonstrated expert clinical knowledge and skills, specifically in intensive care medicineDemonstrated sound clinical judgement and decision-making skillsDemonstrated expert emergency and procedural skillsDemonstrated commitment to continuing professional education and development, including maintenance of personal knowledge and skillsDemonstrated willingness to teach others, including interns, junior medical officers and undergraduate medical studentsDemonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team approach to care and service provisionAbility to maintain accurate and complete medical recordsHigh level verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work and liaise with junior and senior medical staff, and other health professionalsSound theoretical knowledge, practical skills and ethical behaviour required of a medical practitionerCommitment to the principals of quality improvement, patient safety and clinical governanceProven ability to practice medicine in a cross-cultural environment.Preferred Qualifications:Mandatory possession of a Medical qualification from a registered tertiary institution and Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) with a current annual practicing certificate is essential.Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand as recognised by the Australian Medical Council, includingmaintenance of CPD and good standing as required by AHPRA for the maintenance of Specialist Registration.Specialist Registrants will be preferred in all positions; however non-specialists or overseas trained specialists may be considered where appropriate and significant progression towards fellowship can be demonstrated. Applicants who have completed specialist qualifications but are yet to be registered as a specialist are encouraged to apply.All such qualifications should be submittedto AHPRA for inclusionon their websitein which case, this will provide evidence of qualification. Copies of the required information must also be provided in sufficient time to enable the awarding of Scope of Clinical Practice (SoCP) prior to the commencement date.All applicants must be awarded Scope of ClinicalPractice (SoCP) by the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service Credentialing and SoCP committee. Information presented for application will be presented to the committee during the selection process, and all appointments are subject to maintenance of SoCP within the CSCF for the facilities in which clinical work is to be undertaken.
