Café Supervisor, Barista and Café staff

About the position

The Café Supervisor (Level 5) role at AGWA Café and Bar involves managing daily cafe operations and leading staff to ensure high-quality customer service.
To be successful in this role you will be a natural leader with robust communication and problem-solving skills. Key responsibilities include customer service resolution, staff supervision and scheduling, inventory management, enforcing safety and hygiene standards and contributing to sales and profitability. 
Barista and Café Staff (Level 2-4) at AGWA Café and Bar involves daily cafe operations, prepping and serving of food, excellent customer service skills and a can-do attitude.
To be successful in this role you will have hospitality experience, either/or barista experience, great communication skills and efficiency. Key responsibilities include serving customers, food prepping, serving of beverages, adhering to safety and hygiene standards and contributing to a positive team.

The Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA) is the State’s premier Art Museum. Situated in the heart of Perth’s Cultural Centre, the Main and Centenary Galleries house the State Art Collection of over 18,700 works by renowned local and international artists from the 1800’s to today, including approximately 3,000 Aboriginal works. In 2020, the Gallery celebrated 125 years of operation.

Location
This position is located in central Perth within the Cultural Centre hub close to the bustling café, tourist and shopping districts.
Conditions
Café Supervisor is a fixed term full time contract, for a period of 6 months (Saturday, Sunday plus three weekdays), with a possibility of extension and/or permanency.
Barista and Café staff are casual positions (20- 38 hours Saturday, Sunday and midweek), with a possibility of fixed term contract full-time/ part-time and/or permanency.
A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required.
Valid RSA Certificate
Approved Managers Card required (Supervisor role)
Food Handlers & Safety Certificate required
Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants for this position may be considered for ‘similar’ vacancies within the Culture and Arts Portfolio and/or the wider public sector which arise within a reasonable period of time. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process.
