Details: The Environmental Offsets – Planning, Monitoring and Research team is seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Conservation Planning Support Officer ready to drive meaningful conservation outcomes on environmental offset nature reserves in the ACT. This role supports the development and delivery of management plans to meet environmental offset approval conditions, protect threatened species, and restore endangered ecological communities. The successful candidate will bring proven skills, strong teamwork and stakeholder engagement abilities, and a solid understanding of adaptive management principles, ecology and environmental policies.
The Conservation Planning Support Officer will collaborate closely with environmental offset rangers, spatial planners, and other skilled professionals, all committed to evidence-based conservation and long-term ecological success.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements:
* Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra
* A current manual driver's license
Desirable
* Tertiary qualifications in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, or equivalent.
* Willingness to undertake incident management duties, including participation in fire standby, fire suppression and fire training.
Note: This is a temporary position available immediately until 30 June 2029 with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
