Role Purpose
The Corporate Development – M&A / Business Development professional will be responsible for identifying acquisition opportunities, conducting outreach to potential vendors, supporting transaction execution, and assisting with post-acquisition integration. The role will be a key enabler of Pennae Group's growth strategy, with exposure to senior executives, external advisors, and acquisition counterparties.
Key Responsibilities
* Research and identify potential acquisition opportunities aligned with Pennae Group's investment strategy.
* Maintain a structured database/CRM of targets, tracking all outreach activities and relationship history.
* Prepare market scans and industry mapping reports to identify consolidation opportunities.
Outreach & Relationship Building
* Conduct direct outreach to vendors, owners, and advisors of target businesses.
* Maintain regular contact with intermediaries, brokers, and industry networks.
* Facilitate and coordinate initial meetings between Pennae Group leadership and target businesses.
Transaction Support
* Prepare high-quality presentations and briefing materials for internal and external stakeholders.
* Review and analyse financial reports and operating data to support initial evaluations of targets.
* Assist in drafting and reviewing Letters of Intent (LOIs), term sheets, and transaction documents.
* Support the management of external advisors (legal, tax, accounting, and due diligence providers).
* Participate in the due diligence process, assisting with the collection, review, and synthesis of information across commercial, financial, operational, and legal streams.
* Contribute to the planning and execution of post-merger integration activities.
* Support workstreams focused on aligning systems, processes, and people.
* Help track progress of integration initiatives to ensure synergies and value creation are realised.
Board & Advisor Engagement
* Work closely with the Group CEO, Board, and advisors on active deals.
* Receive mentorship from Adam Coffey, leveraging his extensive M&A expertise.
* Incorporate best practices from leading M&A methodologies into Pennae Group's approach.

Location & Work Pattern
Based in Sydney.
Expected to attend Pennae Group's Penrith office at least 2 days per week, with flexibility to work remotely on other days.
