Pinata Farms is one of Australia's leading fresh fruit producers, owning farming operations stretching from remote locations in the NT to the beautiful Sunshine Coast, the high country of Southern QLD, and down into picturesque regional Tasmania. We are about as passionate about fruit as you can get. In fact, our BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal) is for there to be a delicious Pinata fruit experience happening every second somewhere in Australia.
We are looking for a Harvest Manager to join our Wamuran team. Our picturesque farm and head office location is just 15 minutes from Caboolture, allowing for an easy commute from north Brisbane or the Southern Sunshine Coast.
Within this role, you will be critical in managing our hard-working team, our processes, and the performance of our picking operations.
How will you do this?
1. Coordinate harvesting operations in conjunction with Farm management.
2. Manage and train harvest crews, with a strong focus on careful handling to prevent fruit damage and maintain quality.
3. Maintain detailed harvest records, including picker performance, yields per block, and quality data.
4. Liaise with packing shed and logistics teams to ensure harvested fruit is packed and cooled promptly to preserve shelf life.
5. Work with management to ensure harvest schedules are adjusted in response to weather conditions.
6. Conduct quality checks in the field, addressing any issues with picking technique or contamination.
7. Farm and crop maintenance, including new developments in the off season.
