The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Datacentre Infrastructure Officer to join our Cloud and Infrastructure Services team within the Information Services Directorate.
In this role, you'll play a key part in maintaining and evolving our on-premises hybrid compute and storage environment, ensuring reliable, secure, and high-performing IT services that support our department's digital operations.
You'll provide leadership to a small physical infrastructure team which is part of a larger skilled and collaborative team delivering integrated on-premises and hybrid cloud solutions, contribute to system improvements, and support critical processes that keep our technology running smoothly.

About you
You are a skilled IT professional with experience leading teams and managing vendors to deliver reliable infrastructure and storage solutions. You understand hybrid cloud environments, particularly AWS, and their application to compute and storage. Your technical strengths include Group Policy, Active Directory, VMware, Windows, and Linux. You focus on process improvement and producing quality documentation. You work effectively within frameworks and tools to ensure compliance and consistency. Your clear, professional communication helps you resolve conflicts and engage stakeholders confidently.
Special Conditions
* A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
* Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
Educational Qualifications/ License
* A certification in ICT or tertiary education aligning with management and maintenance of ICT Infrastructure.
* Desirable: AWS and or Azure certification in a relevant field.
* A Current Drivers' Licence is essential.

Temporary appointment up to 12 months
Remuneration
ASO6 - $98,478 to $104,165 pa + Superannuation
