**The Organisation**
Life Saving Victoria (LSV) is Victoria's peak water safety and lifesaving organisation built on the proud traditions and programs of our founding organisations, the Royal Life Saving Society - Australia and Surf Life Saving Australia.
Lifesaving has been an integral part of the Victorian way of life since 1904. Today LSV is a multifaceted volunteer-based community organisation with a focus on public safety and community wellbeing
Our volunteers, members, employees and partners work together with communities, educational institutions, government agencies, businesses and the broader aquatic industry, to Save lives and empower communities to safely enjoy water.
**The Opportunity**
Be part of a passionate team dedicated specifically to water safety education, for diverse communities, delivering essential programs across the region. We collaborate with a variety of groups including schools, churches, settlement agencies and community organisations to ensure that everyone has access to the critical skills and knowledge needed for aquatic safety.
This 12-month full-time role, based at either our Port Melbourne or Carrum offices, offers an exciting opportunity to make a genuine impact.
**The role**
- Deliver engaging and fun water safety education programs, sports initiatives, training sessions and mentoring for multicultural communities in both classroom and beach settings.
- Coordinate learn to swim courses, beach excursions and water safety education incursions, including casual staff rostering, equipment management and subcontractor support.
- Liaise closely with community group leaders and stakeholders to address aquatic education and employment needs for the communities they represent, while exploring new project opportunities.
- Mentor young people in their aquatic training pathways.
- Support volunteer Lifesaving Clubs and their members, acting as a liaison with other LSV state officers and LSV's head office.
- Handle administrative duties such as booking management, scheduling and stakeholder communications to ensure smooth program delivery.***
**Who are you?**
- Experienced in education, aquatic and/or recreational program delivery.
- Strong leadership abilities with the capability to oversee a small casual team and engage and mentor selected youth participants.
- A self-starter who enjoys working both in the office and delivering on-site, working independently under mínimal supervision.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to co-manage the multiple programs, excursions and courses that we run simultaneously.
- Passionate about working with multicultural communities and promoting the water safety assistance they need.
- Previous experience in a sporting, emergency service, volunteer-based or educational organisation and knowledge of / or interest in water safety, lifesaving, Life Saving Victoria, Surf Life Saving Australia and Royal Life Saving Society Australia is highly regarded. Given the focus on water safety you will be comfortable and confident around water yourself.
