About the role:
We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced State Editor to join our team. Reporting to the State News Director, the State Editor will be responsible for the leadership of the WIN Television VIC newsrooms. You will liaise with various internal and external stakeholders to produce our highly successful regional bulletin. You will be responsible for preparing the daily news rundowns, subbing reporter scripts and fact checking bulletins before they go to air. You will also act as the first point of contact for advice for other reporters and camera operators on the road. This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday. The state editor must be based in Regional Victoria at either our Albury, Bendigo, Ballarat, Shepparton or Traralgon newsrooms.
About you:
To be the successful candidate, you must have:
* A university qualification in journalism
* At least three years' experience in a newsroom, where you were producing
* A well-rounded knowledge base of regional news
* The ability to lead others and provide sound advice
* Demonstrated understanding and working of Victorian Media Law
* Superior communication, relationship building and stakeholder management skills
* Accuracy and excellent attention to detail
* Excellent time management skills and excel at working in a deadline-driven environment
* Positive work ethic, and the ability and willingness to learn new systems and processes
