Initial 12 month contract with possibility of ongoing employment
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) provides an independent, efficient, fair and just prosecution service for the people of New South Wales. Its vision is to be a dynamic prosecution service recognized for its excellence and leadership.
We are seeking an experienced communications officer to assist the Director of Public Prosecutions and the Executives in ensuring the delivery of effective communication strategies throughout the Office.
As the Media Liaison and Communications Officer, you will :
Contribute to the review, development and implementation of communications strategies to support ODPP's strategic objectives.
Initiate and maintain effective contacts and cooperative relationships with media and other key stakeholders.
Act as the principal media contact, responding promptly to enquiries from media and other key stakeholders.
Monitor media reports and sensitive issues in the news, providing appropriate advice as required.
Coordinate media liaison and communications activities with internal and external stakeholders.
We are looking for someone with excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills; high-level written communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail; able to exercise good judgement and discretion; and an ability to balance competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
This recruitment is to fill a current vacancy and a Talent Pool will be created for future ongoing and temporary positions that may arise over the next 18 months.

Provide an example demonstrating your ability to balance competing demands in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
