Role Overview
This position supports the Local Court Magistrate in diverting defendants with or suspected of mental illness, disorder or cognitive impairment from the Criminal Justice System into community care.

* To effectively assist the Magistrate, strong analytical skills are required to assess defendant situations and recommend appropriate community-based interventions.
* A high level of empathy and understanding is necessary for working with defendants who may be experiencing mental health issues.
