Role Overview
As a Marketing Manager at Whatnot, you will drive hyper-growth and help sellers expand their businesses rapidly. You will quickly understand users and communities across categories, whether it's beauty, trading cards, or others. Your expertise in developing and executing marketing plans will focus on customer acquisition and retention, including digital events, influencer collaborations, and content partnerships with sellers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Own buyer acquisition across priority categories in Australia, creating campaigns and events that generate buzz and increase demand.
2. Develop and implement social media strategies for your market's categories across multiple channels.
3. Identify and pursue PR and influencer opportunities in the local market.
4. Build scalable resources and toolkits to help sellers market their channels and grow audiences.
5. Measure and optimize the effectiveness of marketing initiatives.
Note: Team members in this role must be based in Australia.
Candidate Profile
We value a growth mindset and high-impact drive. The ideal candidate has:
* 5+ years of marketing experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably at a high-growth startup, marketplace, or creator-focused platform.
* Fluency in English and French, with a deep understanding of the French market.
* Strong project management skills and the ability to own strategy and content across multiple channels.
* Creative thinking, content creation, and copywriting skills.
* Experience tracking KPIs and measuring marketing success.
* Proficiency with graphic design and video editing tools (e.g., Creative Suite, Figma).
* Passion for creator communities and/or existing Whatnot product categories, such as vintage clothing and collectibles; experience buying and selling online is a plus.
