As part of our 2025/2026 Graduate Program, we are recruiting for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Engineering Servies Team, based in either Sydney or Melbourne.

You will participate in meaningful, on the job training within your technical field of specialty to support your career path and be given the opportunity to network and connect across our global organisation.

In the role of a Graduate Engineer, we'll count on you to:

- Work across the teams to produce designs, reports and other associated project engineering work.
- Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional engineer or Project Manager.
- Develop your engineering and delivery skills.
- Apply engineering techniques and procedures.
- Be a team player with ambition to learn, lead, develop and improve team members.
- Contribute to building a robust, diverse organisation that embraces inclusion with respect and appreciation for the value we each bring to our clients and to HDR.
- Give your full commitment to HDR’s Values
- Take active leadership towards safety.
- Perform other duties as needed.

About You

- Undertaking a relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mechanical), or similar.
- Graduated before January 2026.
- 0-2 years' relevant work experience.
- Strong interest in building engineering services.
- Passion for learning and commitment to developing your skills.
- Previous experience as an undergraduate in a consulting environment – advantageous
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel and Word.
- Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

If you are successful through our recruitment process, your full-time position will start in February 2026. If you graduate early, there may be flexibility to commence early. There may also be ongoing opportunities for casual work throughout your final year of study as an undergraduate before starting your graduate career with us once you’ve completed your studies.
