Regulatory Affairs Counsel
The Corporate Counsel provides legal advice and guidance on regulatory, compliance, and enforcement matters across a range of industries.
The role involves providing timely, strategic, and commercially focused legal advice to support business decision-making, compliance, and customer outcomes. It also requires staying informed of legal and industry developments, implementing regulatory changes, and balancing strong compliance with a commercial approach in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities include provision of ongoing legal support and advice on regulatory matters, management of regulatory enforcement matters by mitigating legal risks, and managing Optus' responses to regulatory and law enforcement requests.
Requirements
Qualified Australian solicitor with 5+ years' legal experience
Extensive knowledge of regulatory and telecommunications matters
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust, influence stakeholders, work both independently and collaboratively, and manage competing priorities
