Experienced Process Operator / Technician - FIFO 8:6 / 7:7
Red Arrow Australia is currently looking for Experienced Process Operators / Technician to work an 8:6 or 7:7 roster in the Pilbara for a Tier 1 mining company FIFO from Perth for a 6-month contract.
The Process Operator / Technician is a front-line operator with both field and control-room responsibilities, accountable for the safe, stable and efficient operation of processing and foundry circuits across Beneficiation, Agglomeration, DRI Reduction, Smelting and Granulation.
The role involves executing approved operating procedures, conducting routine inspections and sampling, managing start-ups and shutdowns, coordinating isolations and permits, and responding effectively to process upsets to achieve daily production, quality, safety and environmental objectives.
Key responsibilities
Develop Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) to identify hazards and implement effective controls to minimise risk exposure, and complete Take Five assessments for personal risk evaluation.
Adhere to Standard Work Instructions to ensure the safe and efficient operation and identify opportunities for safety and process improvements, and review and update procedures as required.
Operate mobile plant and equipment for feed handling and product packaging, including front-end loaders, telehandlers, forklifts and overhead cranes.
Qualifications and experience
Work collaboratively within a small team to support commissioning activities, including assisting maintenance during planned shutdowns and unplanned stoppages, while demonstrating a high level of communication and teamwork.
Hold relevant foundry qualifications or a Certificate III in Process Plant Operations (or equivalent experience).
Continuously monitor plant and equipment, address identified faults within your discipline, and raise and track maintenance notifications as required.
Maintain accurate daily reports and logs, and deliver clear, thorough shift handovers supported by strong communication skills.
Previous Foundry Experience will be highly regarded.
