A current and valid Working With Children Check or ability to obtain one.
First Aid Certificate including training in asthma and anaphylaxis.
Essential Skills and Attributes Understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standard (NQS) to assist in ensuring quality practices and outcomes.
Ability to support, mentor and lead a team of educators in the absence of the Service Manager.
Capability to assist in managing daily operations, from staffing to parent communications.
Strong verbal and written skills for effective interactions with families, staff and regulatory bodies.
Ability to effectively address and resolve issues that may arise within the service.
Desirable Skills and Knowledge Previous experience in a Service 2IC, Assistant Director, Assistant Service Manager or similar role within an early childhood setting.
Demonstrated skills in working collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and support staff.
Proficiency in using relevant management software and tools for communication, documentation and reporting.
A commitment to engage in ongoing training and development.
Skills to address and mediate challenges or disputes that might arise among staff or with families.

NZ We are looking for an extraordinary person to work alongside and support our Centre Manager.
As a fully registered ECE Teacher you will be a natural leader and will be instrumental in helping to lead, develop and inspire a team of talented teachers.
This exciting pivotal leadership role will offer you a new challenge, significant variety and the reward of being part an innovative and people-focused organisation.
You will be working closely with the Centre Manager, providing a high level of support, you will have a strong "on the floor" presence, providing mentoring and coaching and role modelling exceptional teaching practice to the rest of the team.
Creating strong community relationships, assisting with compliance management and helping to maintain and build occupancy levels will be an integral part of this role.
The following skills, knowledge and capabilities are ideally required for this role:
• Proven recent success in a leadership role with the ability to demonstrate an inclusive and collaborative leadership style
• Outstanding time management and organisational skills
• Superb communication skills
• Initiative, desire and passion for quality practice standards and commitment to the principles of Te Whariki
• Innovative, resilient, committed, passionate and enthusiastic
