An opportunity exists for an experienced HR or workplace relations professional to lead complex integrity matters within a federal government environment. This role focuses on workplace investigations, employee relations advice, and strategic people management, providing high-level guidance on legislation, policy and complex case matters across the organisation.

About The Role
The Assistant Director, Workplace Integrity sits within the People & Culture division and plays a key role in managing complex employee relations and integrity matters. The role provides expert advice on employment legislation, workplace investigations and people management practices while supporting organisational leadership to navigate sensitive and high-risk cases. The position operates with a high degree of independence and requires strong judgement, stakeholder engagement and leadership capability.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert advice on APS HR legislation, policies and enterprise agreementsManage complex Code of Conduct investigations and workplace integrity mattersConduct Reviews of Action under the Public Service Act 1999Case manage matters in external jurisdictions such as Fair Work and the AHRCUndertake risk evaluation and determine appropriate case management strategiesReview and contribute to workplace integrity and People & Culture policiesAnalyse case metrics and reporting to inform executive decision makingBuild strong relationships with internal stakeholders and senior leaders
Skills And Experience
Strong knowledge of APS HR legislation and public sector employment frameworksExperience managing workplace investigations and complex people mattersDemonstrated case management and risk assessment capabilityExcellent research, analytical and problem-solving skillsHigh level written communication and report writing abilityStrong stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Law, or related disciplineDesirable: Certificate IV in Government Investigations
