Crawfords Freightlines (Crawfords) is a privately owned and operated company that provides integrated intermodal freight transportation services operating in road, rail and warehousing. Crawfords operate a network of depots across Eastern Australia.
The Workshop Supervisor is located in Werris Creek and leads a busy team of mechanics and apprentices. You will be managing the delivery of preventative maintenance of assets, scheduled servicing and break-down / repair services across a fleet of prime movers, trailers and operating plant.
About the role:
* Minimizing the impact of plant down-time by ensuring a schedule of preventative maintenance and any non-scheduled servicing and repair is conducted efficiently and in a manner ensuring minimal impact on operations
* A hands-on approach to ensure our fleet is in operation to meet client requirements
* The development, implementation and maintenance of maintenance systems and procedures
* Ensure reporting and compliance of maintenance activities is completed and maintained
* Quality Control
* Cost management for the Maintenance Unit
About you:
* A relevant formal mechanical trade qualification and background with a minimum 5-10 years experience in a similar role, preferably in a road transport environment
* A demonstrated knowledge of relevant industry WHS
* Experience in the supervision, mentoring and coaching of a team of mechanics with the ability to monitor and evaluate staff performance.
* Competence in computer based applications such as MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience in a maintenance application and parts data base would be an advantage.
* The ability to ensure overall safety and well being of a team in a heavy industrial environment
* Clear and concise communication abilities with excellent interpersonal skills
* The ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical and random Drug & Alcohol testing
* Forklift and HC licences are highly desirable.
