Key Roles and Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, mitigating risk and enabling business growth.
* Monitor regulatory developments and provide legal support on R&D, marketing, and promotions.
* Manage the lifecycle of intellectual property, including trademarks and patents.
* Establish and implement local compliance and risk control frameworks.
* Identify and manage key business risks, develop response strategies and assist in their implementation.
* Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements.
* Provide legal advice to procurement, sales and marketing teams.
* Handle disputes, litigation and investigations related to consumer issues, contracts or IP matters.
* Liaise with regulators and coordinate responses to inquiries or investigations.
* Conduct internal training on legal compliance, risk management and IP protection.
* Enhance communication and alignment between Australia business units and China.
* Support cross-border legal matters including trade regulations, customs and import/export compliance.
Requirements:
* Qualified in Law (LLB/JD) and admitted to practice in Australia with a current practicing certificate.
* Over 7-10 years PQE from a reputable law firm and/or in-house legal role, ideally in FMCG, retail or cross-border business settings.
* Solid understanding of Australian corporate, consumer and commercial law.
* Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin is a bonus for cross-border collaboration.
* Proven experience in regulatory compliance and risk control frameworks.
* Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation and communication skills.
