The Academic Director for Middle School is a key leadership role that plays a vital part in advancing student achievement and well-being in grades 6-8.
This position serves as a partner to the Principal, sharing responsibility for instructional excellence, operational effectiveness, and culture.
About this Role
* Facilitates professional learning communities and mentors new staff through comprehensive onboarding and ongoing professional growth planning.
* Leads specific instructional initiatives as assigned, ensuring alignment with state and national education requirements and best practices in middle-level education.
* Partners with the Principal in designing professional learning, teacher evaluation processes, and recruiting/screening candidates for middle school positions.
The ideal candidate is an experienced educational leader who understands early adolescent development and approaches this work with high expectations and genuine care for students and staff.
They are a skilled coach who thrives in classrooms, providing feedback that elevates teaching practice and drives student achievement.
Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:
* Possess a deep understanding of middle-level education and early adolescent development.
* Hold a relevant graduate degree (e.g., Master's or Doctoral) in Education or a related field.
* Demonstrate experience in instructional leadership, teacher coaching, and staff development.
* Show a proven track record of improving student achievement and teacher effectiveness.
