About the project
The Lake Macdonald Dam is located in the Noosa hinterland and is part of the South East Queensland drinking water supply operated by Seqwater.
John Holland has been awarded the Contract to undertake the largest upgrade to the dam since its installation in 1965 as part of the Seqwater Dam Improvement Project. The upgrade will include but not be limited to:
- Pre-construction Approvals, Procurement and Site Establishment
- Lake Lowering and Aquatic Salvage
- Installation of Upstream Coffer Dam
- Cofferdam, Spillway Demolition and Working Platform
- Dam Construction
- Reinstatement, Rehabilitation and Demobilisation
As construction of LMDIP (Lake Macdonald Dam Improvement Project) gets under way, John Holland is actively recruiting for a Temporary Works Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in the successful delivery of this iconic Noosa hinterland project based in Nambour, Sunshine Coast.
Responsibilities of the role include
- Coordinating and managing all temporary works activities on the construction site
- Ensuring that all temporary works designs are compliant with relevant codes, standards, and regulations
- Reviewing and approving temporary works designs and ensuring they meet project requirements
- Liaising with design teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of temporary works activities
- Conducting risk assessments and implementing appropriate control measures for temporary works
- Monitoring the installation, use, and dismantling of temporary works to ensure compliance with approved designs and safe working practices
- Providing technical advice and support to project teams regarding temporary works
- Maintaining accurate documentation, including records of temporary works activities and compliance
To be successful in this key role, you must have
- A relevant qualification in civil engineering or a related field
- Extensive experience in temporary works coordination within the construction industry, preferably with a large tier contractor
- In-depth knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations related to temporary works
- Solid understanding of construction methods and techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination with various stakeholders
- Attention to detail and the ability to review and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in managing temporary works activities
- Familiarity with relevant software and tools used for temporary works design and coordination
