Overview
The Shoreline is expanding our Allied Health Team with the addition of a Part Time Podiatrist. This position will increase the service offering for our elderly residents and share our Creed: Caring, Respect, Excellence, Engaged, Dignity.
The Podiatrist is responsible for working under the direction of the Director of Care, while also working autonomously to service residents in accordance with treatment plans and to maximise quality of care. The podiatrist provides the full suite of podiatry services to residents in the aged care facility and to those in independent living units. The podiatrist liaises with care service providers to complement care plans and maximise outcomes in line with funding and standards. They conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and implement interventions to improve mobility, function, and comfort.
Key Accountabilities
Standards for Practice
* Ensure all behaviour, communication, documentation, and practice comply with relevant legislation and The Shoreline policies and procedures.
* Meet the Aged Care Quality Standards when planning and delivering services.
* Complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
* Deliver care in accordance with the needs, goals, and preferences of residents, promoting wellbeing, choice, and independence.
* Model and adhere to professional standards and conduct; maintain a healthy workplace culture as an Allied Health professional.
Personal and Clinical Care and Services
* Provide Primary care Podiatry including dermatological care, wound and ulcer management, dressings, nail and fracture care.
* Continuously monitor and assess podiatry needs of residents and adjust programs as required.
* Under direction of the physiotherapist, transport residents safely to and from appointments.
* Provide podiatry services respectfully, preserving dignity and privacy.
* Provide services in accordance with ACFI/AN-ACC and clinical requirements.
* Deliver high-quality customer service to internal and external customers.
* Identify and communicate risks in clinical care and act to manage risk.
* Provide person-centred care and advocate for residents to support informed choices.
* Fulfil duty of care and respond to unsafe or unprofessional practice.
* Treat all residents with dignity and respect; interact in a kind, caring and respectful manner.
* Respect residents' gender, identity, and culture; ensure inclusion in care and service delivery.
* Support residents to make informed choices by providing information or seeking assistance as needed.
* Assist residents to stay connected with local communities.
* Encourage feedback and facilitate respectful, open communication regarding complaints.

The Shoreline is the newest luxury aged care facility on the Mid North Coast of NSW, offering a resort-like atmosphere with high-quality care. The facility provides retirement living and premium residential aged care on a coastal site.

You will demonstrate compassion, kindness, and empathy for the elderly and diverse individuals, with responsiveness to residents' needs and preferences.
To succeed in this role you will need the following skills and attributes:
* Bachelor or Postgraduate Degree in Podiatry or Podiatric Medicine
* Current registration with AHPRA
* Evidence-based practice in care delivery
* Ability to work independently with limited supervision
* Ability to work in a multi-skilled team and communicate with management, staff, and stakeholders
* Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize; understanding of aging and advocacy for older people in residential care
* Commitment to ongoing professional development
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and desktop applications
* Police check clearance
