An Australian R&D and manufacturing company developing advanced defence and industrial systems is expanding its team and hiring a CNC Machinist / Programmer to support the production of high-precision components as they move into full-scale manufacturing.
The role is full-time, onsite in Adelaide, SA, working an afternoon shift (12:00 PM – 8:00 PM) with shift loading added to the base salary.
Key Responsibilities
* Program, set up, and operate multi-axis CNC milling machines.
* Read and interpret CAD/CAM models and engineering drawings.
* Select tooling, speeds, and feeds appropriate for defence-grade materials.
* Carry out first-off inspections and ensure parts meet quality requirements.
* Perform adjustments and minor maintenance to optimise machine performance.
* Work collaboratively with engineers and assembly teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
* Maintain accurate documentation and follow company quality processes.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a CNC Machinist with strong programming ability.
* Background in defence, or other precision manufacturing industries desirable.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD/CAM data.
* Familiarity with multi-axis CNC milling machines.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
* Must be anAustralian citizen.
Desirable but not essential
* Experience with defence-grade materials such as aluminium, titanium, or stainless steel.
* Exposure to ISO **** or AS**** quality environments.
* Mechanical trade qualifications or equivalent.
