The Training and Assessor/Training Coordinator role ensures the projects operational employees' and contractors are equipped with the appropriate skills to perform their roles in a safe and efficient manner, whilst ensuring we meet our Safety compliance obligations. This is a diverse and fast-paced role, full‑time opportunity on an 8 on / 6 off shift roster based predominantly in Orange, NSW at a major mining project.
Responsibilities
* Support internal stakeholders in achieving learning and development outcomes in line with project delivery.
* Assist the Project Team in identifying training needs for the Project workforce.
* Conduct and facilitate training and development when required.
* Assess employees against their role‑based training requirements.
* Perform competency assessments, identify gaps and make recommendations.
* Design and build training content that meets the identified learning objectives and outcomes.
* Ensure compliance is accurate and precise whilst keeping an up‑to‑date record for auditing reasons.
* Keep informed of all developments in legislative requirements, industry standards and best practices in construction and ensure that these are followed at all times with a high priority to workplace health and safety.
* Ensure that plant, equipment, staff and subcontractors operate within safe working conditions and that all departmental operations meet safety and legislative requirements.
* Comply with SEE Group Integrated Management System policies and procedures.
* Identify competitive advantages and build organic growth opportunities.
* Represent SEE Group in a professional manner at all times, both externally and internally and support the adoption of the SEE Group corporate culture.
* Be positive and proactive in coaching, mentoring and training of relevant staff; identify and develop staff within the department for the benefit of the organisation and to meet future growth and needs of the company.
* Responsible for a productive team environment where high morale contributes to the satisfaction of associates and business objectives.
* Perform other functions related to the office of the Training and Assessor or as may be requested by the Directors of the business.
Essential Skills and Attributes
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
* 5 years' experience as a trainer in a similar role and ideally on a major infrastructure project or similar.
* Adaptable and able to work in a high-volume role, whilst working on site as part of a team.
* Process and planning oriented with great attention to detail.
* Proven ability to deliver programs in classroom settings to diverse groups of people.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
