Job Description
We are seeking a strategic and dynamic leader to oversee the delivery of community services in a diverse portfolio across Greater Darwin. As Area Manager – Greater Darwin, you will lead dedicated teams, providing high-level strategic and operational leadership to ensure services meet funding requirements and align with our values and vision.
This on-site position primarily based at our Darwin Office offers opportunities to work from key service hubs. You will drive workforce planning, resource allocation, compliance, and contract performance while navigating complex service environments.
As a key representative of our organization in the Greater Darwin region, you will build and maintain strong partnerships with government stakeholders, funders, community organizations, and sector peers.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the performance of operations and contract delivery across multiple services in the defined geography, managing up to 3 direct reports and a team of up to 35 staff.
* Provide operational and strategic direction for service contracts, ensuring they are delivered within funding guidelines and meet compliance and quality standards.
* Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure consistency, compliance, and continuous improvement across all services.
* Oversee the development, preparation, and monitoring of operational budgets, reporting on service performance and addressing underperformance.
* Support the Regional Leader and State Director in contract negotiations and provide strategic insights regarding workforce capacity and service delivery capabilities.
* Drive workforce planning, recruitment, retention, succession planning, and the professional development of frontline managers and service teams.
* Manage stakeholder relationships with local/state government, funding bodies, and community organizations to build our presence and advocate for client needs.
* Contribute to local service strategy aligned with national direction; identify opportunities for growth and innovation across the service portfolio.
* Promote and model values-based leadership to build a culture of openness, accountability, and high performance.
