Lockheed Martin Australia Advanced Systems & Technologies is Lockheed Martin's first dedicated multi-disciplinary research organisation to be set up outside of the US and conducts research in artificial intelligence, signal and image processing, communication systems, and multidomain operations to deliver exciting outcomes that advance Australian capability.

Your responsibilities will include:
You will execute application-driven research and prototype development drawing from engineering disciplines including Computer Science, Computer Vision, and Signal Processing. Additionally, you will:
* Aid in the design and development of research programs that achieve application-driven objectives.
* Execute research and development activities, implementing solutions that deliver transformational capability.
* Communicate the outcomes of your work to customers and the community.
* Maintain the currency of your knowledge of the cutting edge, and develop your technical and professional expertise to ensure the novelty of your solutions.
About you:
You possess deep knowledge and a passion for the application and stewardship of emerging technologies, and hold:
* A degree within the disciplines of mathematics, statistics, computer vision, state estimation, or mechatronics, or demonstrable experience conducting relevant industry-based R&D in this area.
* Experience developing solutions relating to statistical detection and estimation in noisy signals or images, such as machine perception, simultaneous localisation and mapping, or neuromorphic imaging.
* Professional scientific or engineering experience in a project environment or multi-disciplinary research teams.
* Strong communication skills, and an ability to produce timely and accurate research reporting materials.
* Software development skills in Python, C++, or similar.
Special Requirements:
Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and employment may be contingent on the provision of further personal information including citizenship to ensure compliance with international export control legislation and regulations.
