About the Opportunity
As
Head of Retail Development
, you'll lead store innovation, planning and delivery of IGA supermarket designs, construction, fit-outs and refurbishments. You'll oversee a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and compliant store environments that reflect brand standards and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
In this Role
Drive retail innovation and new capabilities to deliver 'best store in town' experiences
Lead, coach and inspire a multidisciplinary team across design, project management, signage and equipment procurement
Oversee national-scale retail development projects from planning to fit-out
Manage P&L, cost-centre budgets and financial performance of projects
Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, BCA and Australian standards
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and independent retailers
Oversee tendering processes and contracts, liaising with legal and procurement
Identify procurement opportunities to optimise sourcing and equipment sales
You're Likely a Match If
10+ years in store development, retail expansion or capital projects (supermarkets preferred)
5+ years in senior leadership roles managing large-scale projects
Strong financial acumen and experience with budgeting and forecasting
Expertise in retail design, construction and compliance standards
Proven ability to lead high-performing teams and develop future leaders
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Customer-centric mindset and innovative thinking
