The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to participate in the delivery of mechanical maintenance, repair and capital works associated with water and sewerage assets.
As an Apprentice Mechanical Fitter, under direct guidance and supervision you will perform maintenance, repairs and capital works on water supply and sewerage assets, and assist in inspections to monitor infrastructure performance. You will prepare equipment requisitions and draft reports, while also updating drawings and recording inspection data in the asset management system.

About You
We are seeking an individual who has obtained a School Certificate (Year 10) or equivalent and has basic understanding of mechanical maintenance and repair duties.
You will have the following skills and experience;
* Basic understanding and ability to develop proficiency in the monitoring and fault finding of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
* Basic understanding and ability to develop proficiency in the use of measuring tools to check the fit, clearance, finish, precision, of parts and equipment.
* Basic understanding and ability to develop proficiency in the use of cutting, grinding, pressing, boring and drilling tools.
* Basic understanding and ability to develop proficiency in dismantle, repair and replace faulty components.
Benefits
This is a grant-funded, fixed‑term, full time position working 38 hours per week for a period of four (4) years.
The total remuneration package for this position commences at $28,071.68 to $48,187.78 gross per annum, comprising of :
* $482.00 to $827.40 per week base salary
* $57.84 to $99.29 per week superannuation (calculated at 12%)
Remuneration for this position is dependent upon the age and level of schooling achieved by the successful candidate.
