What YOU WILL ACHIEVE In the role of Buyers Assistant, you will play a crucial role within the team in driving and delivering the overall category strategy. There are two opportunities available here, with one in Men's Essentials, and one in Branded Sportswear. On a daily basis, supporting the Buyer with planning, administration and process support across the department; overseeing the processing of orders, working with a variety of vendors, as well as being a key liaison for the store networks with updates and communications on product deliveries and stock requirements. What YOUR DAY LOOKS LIKE Customer Obsessed & Delivering Service Like No Other To work closely with internal stakeholders to strive to improve and challenge existing processes. An awareness of company growth ambition and the ability to use retail acumen and analysis to support these growth plans. Other responsibilities as required. Driving Commercial & Operational Achievement In conjunction with the Buyer, maintain effective relationships with suppliers and support with the identification of new business opportunities and trends. Assist the Buyer to maintain reorders within brand maps and price curves. Raise and manage purchase orders. Monitor product performance and manage promotional campaigns, closely monitoring competitor offerings to maintain a competitive advantage in the market. Support the Buyer in working with the Merchandise Planner and other members on the department, as well as the store management teams to effectively manage stock to satisfy customer demand, which may include weekly stock ordering and allocations. Monitor advertising stock back up and performance, inclusive of ticketing and sample coordination. Monitor basic stock performance and recommend relevant action to Buyer/ Merchandise Planner as necessary, initiating markdown activity within policy and collecting negotiated rebates from vendors. Work directly with store teams to seek customer feedback and the implementation of store strategic initiatives. Ensure that you consult and avoid introducing new hazards or breaches of WHS legislation when implementing new initiatives, systems, products, equipment or designs. Report injuries or hazards as per policy and support return to work programs. What YOU’LL NEED TO THRIVE Degree in Business, Fashion or other relevant fields of study, as well as relevant work experience Experience working in a retail environment in a similar role Microsoft Office proficiencies (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Communication skills Analytical skills Proven negotiation skills Team building skills How WE MEASURE ACHIEVEMENT You will achieve by delivering outcomes aligned to the following measures.
