Salary: 65-75k package (based on experience)
This role is on a Full Time, 12mth contract (likely to be extended). Perfect for someone who is in the tourism industry and has 2 years experience.
The working week will be primarily between Monday to Friday, however additional reasonable hours may be required during peak periods, for tourism events and throughout October to April, occasional weekend work may be required.
OBJECTIVE
The Marketing & Partnerships Coordinator plays a key role in driving sales growth by promoting sunrise hot air balloon flights over the Yarra Valley, Melbourne, and Mansfield.
Working in tourism, creating a memorable experience for every passenger is the backbone of what we do. This role not only focuses on exceeding sales targets but also on building strong relationships with local businesses to maximise last-minute sales opportunities and elevate the overall customer experience.
In addition to marketing responsibilities, the role supports the Reservations team with administrative and communication tasks, helping to deliver seamless service to both corporate and leisure travelers. You'll also assist the Marketing Manager with campaign execution, coordinating promotions, developing partnerships, and managing social media.
No two days are ever the same – you'll be juggling a variety of tasks, which is all part of the fast-paced, exciting nature of working in this unique industry. Your role will grow with you, shaped by your attitude, initiative, and professional development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing & Promotions:
* Assist the Marketing Manager in executing campaigns, promotions, and partnership initiatives.
* Develop and implement a content calendar, ensuring promotions for key events and seasonal campaigns.
* Research and secure influencer & content collaborations for last-minute flights.
* Regularly seek out new marketing opportunities, with a focus on reward and incentive programs, corporate social clubs, and associations.
* Negotiate contra agreements to maximise exposure and partnerships.
* Track and report on the performance of sales, campaigns and promotions.
* Produce blogs to enhance website SEO and keep content relevant.
Partnerships & Industry Relations:
* Actively build and maintain relationships with local tourism partners, offering offers for their networks and exploring cross-promotional opportunities.
* Establish and maintain relationships with government bodies, major hotels, and key attractions to strengthen preferred supplier status.
* Liaising with tourism trade distribution channels – retail, wholesale and inbound travel agents, regarding contracts and booking processes.
* Representation at local/international networking events and trade functions.
* Drive sales / bookings for balloon flight packages.
* Ensure all enquiries are filtered and processed effectively to maximise booking conversions.
* Quote and coordinate group sales enquiries.
* Provide support to the reservations team as needed, including inputting direct and agent sales enquiries and handling phone enquiries.
Social Media & Digital Marketing:
It is likely that a social media agency will be designated to channel love into Global Ballooning's social media.
Your role will:
* Assist in the development and implementation of a social media marketing strategy across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Google My Business, YouTube, TikTok, and emerging channels.
* Frequently fly in balloons to capture fresh, high-quality content for social media and digital marketing initiatives.
* Assist in creating engaging, fresh, and educational content, including posts, reels, and stories, to enhance brand visibility and drive engagement.
* Ensure social media posts are scheduled to align with key promotions, events, and seasonal campaigns.
* Monitor social media performance, respond to customer enquiries, and engage with followers to build an active community.
* Research and collaborate with influencers, content creators, and brand ambassadors for partnerships and promotions.
In situations where there is no dedicated support for this area, you will be responsible for managing, scheduling, and overseeing all social media activity.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Must have a valid Australian driver's license and own a reliable car.
* Fluent in English; written and spoken.
* Tertiary qualification in Tourism, Marketing or Communications
* At least 2 years previous experience in marketing and/or similar position
* Experience in creating digital content including photos and videos is desired.
* Photography skills or video editing skills are an advantage
* Strong administrative skills in the Microsoft Suite
* MailChimp email marketing experience is an advantage
* Experience in the tourism industry is an advantage
JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS
The key attributes we are looking for in applicants are: -
* Knowledge in social media, content creation & branding
* Ability to craft compelling social media posts, blogs & marketing materials
* Experience managing Instagram, Facebook, Google My Business, Tiktok & YouTube
* Proficiency in Canva, Photoshop or similar tools
* Ability to shoot & edit content for social media is an advantage
* Knowledge of paid digital advertising & analytics - Google Ads & Meta Ads is an advantage
* Ability to update website content on Wordpress & write SEO-optimised blogs
* Experience with Mailchimp, CRM & email marketing
* Confident in networking & building relationships
* Highly motivated & growth-oriented – self-starter who seeks improvement
* Proactive mindset – takes initiative & problem-solves before issues arise
* Willing to work flexible hours as needed - adaptable and flexible
* Strong organisational skills – ability to manage multiple tasks & meet deadlines
* Team player & independent worker – works collaboratively & autonomously
