About the role
This is a part-time (0.4 FTE) role, working either Wednesday and Thursday or Thursday and Friday, alongside our QA Coordinator, perfect for someone seeking experience and flexible hours while delivering high-quality work.
As a Junior Test Analyst, you'll be key to ensuring the quality and stability of our platform, used by thousands of jobseekers and employers every day. Working closely with our Head of Product, software engineers, designer, and our QA Coordinator, you'll plan, execute and refine manual software testing strategies.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Creating detailed test plans and test cases based on user stories and acceptance criteria;
* Conducting manual end-to-end testing of new features; and
* Performing regression tests to ensure existing functionality remains unaffected by new developments or code refactoring.
You'll be responsible for identifying, documenting and tracking defects, and providing detailed feedback to developers and other stakeholders.
In partnership with our QA Coordinator, you'll continuously improve testing processes and identify opportunities for automation and increased efficiency.
Part of your role will involve collaborating with our software engineers to ensure quality across multiple products used by employers, jobseekers, and internal teams.
You'll also participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and other Agile ceremonies to stay aligned with the team's progress and goals.
About you
First, as this is a part time (0.4 FTE) role (working either Wednesday and Thursday or Thursday and Friday) those hours will need to suit you.
This is an entry level role for a graduate or someone interested in getting started with software testing and quality assurance (QA).
Whether you have experience or not, you're someone who enjoys logically working through and solving problems.
You thrive in fast-paced settings, dealing with quick iteration cycles and adapting to changing requirements, all while ensuring the release of high-quality products.
Ideally, you might have experience in QA or manual testing of web-based applications for desktop or mobile platforms, including creating test plans, executing test cases, and logging defects, and/or experience working in Agile or Scrum environments where you've worked with product owners, developers or designers.
Familiarity with Atlassian tools, such as Jira, Jira Service Management and Confluence, is also desirable.
Perhaps most importantly, you've got strong analytical skills and amazing attention to detail, enabling you to create test plans that are clear and actionable, and to effectively communicate and discuss issue with the development team.
