AWS is seeking a passionate Security Engineer, Incident Response, to lead responses to security issues across the world's largest cloud provider. The role requires thriving in high-pressure situations, thinking like both an attacker and defender, and managing the entire incident response lifecycle. You will work within a global team where clear communication, documentation, and collaboration on security issues are essential.
In this role, you will conduct security monitoring and response activities for Amazon's internal network. We value broad and deep technical knowledge in areas such as operating system security, network security, cryptography, software security, malware analysis, forensics, security operations, incident response, detection and hunting, and emergent security intelligence. While expertise in all domains is not expected, enthusiasm to learn is essential.
Minimum Qualifications:
BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent cybersecurity experience or certifications (e.g., GIAC).
5+ years of experience in systems, network, or application security.
3+ years on a security team, particularly in coordinating incident responses.
Proficiency in programming or scripting languages.
5+ years in incident response, security operations, automation tooling, hunting, or threat intelligence.
Familiarity with malware analysis, forensics, SOAR, SIEM platforms, detection engineering, or hunting; expertise in any domain is a plus.
Proficiency with multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux, MacOS).
Experience with Amazon Web Services.
