Salary: UOM9 – $146,049 – $151,951 p.a. plus 17% superannuation
High‐impact portfolio role across IP, start‐ups and venture investments. Shape commercialisation asset management, collaborate with researchers, founders and investors, and lead complex commercialisation asset portfolios to turn Melbourne's research into investable ventures.
Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate IP commercialisation support, ensuring effective workflows, protection strategies and high‐quality transaction governance.
* Develop and maintain portfolio data, dashboards and valuation approaches across IP, start‐up and investment holdings.
* Support governance frameworks and committees for start‐up, VC and funding portfolios, enabling robust, compliant investment decisions.
* Oversee onboarding, monitoring and risk assessment for portfolio companies, engaging founders, investors and partners to drive value.
* Contribute to commercialisation strategy, venture‐creation models and new funding structures aligned with University objectives.
Qualifications
* Postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience in law, finance, business, economics, engineering or related fields.
* Post‐qualification experience in legal, corporate, consulting, venture, commercialisation or investment environments.
* Familiarity with intellectual property, commercial transactions and corporate or legal documentation.
* Strong skills in managing complex datasets, analytical reporting and multiple concurrent workstreams with high attention to detail.
* Excellent communication across technical, commercial and executive stakeholders, with ability to produce concise, insightful briefs and investment papers.
* Appreciation for university or research innovation settings, including IP commercialisation, technology transfer or start‐up ecosystems.
