Employee will supervise the manufacturing and distribution of feed formulations for all groups of animals at the farm.
Will ensure the availability of adequate raw materials to make TMR and maintain proper records of all activities in the Nutrition Department.
Ensure timely feeding of animals to achieve high production and minimal waste.
KEY RESULTS AREAS: Liaise with vets, feed dispatchers, animal professionals, and supervisors at all farms to ensure animals receive the best quality feed at the correct times.
Check and report the quantity and quality of feed materials received.
Keep daily records of feed usage and the balance of feed materials on hand.
Ensure the farm has enough feedstock for daily feeding.
Supervise the preparation of total mixing ration for different animal groups.
Ensure the correct ration is given to the appropriate group.
Analyze feed dry matter, TMR, and manure evaluation by pen in milking groups daily.
Conduct regular Rumen Filling Score assessments.
Assess daily feed intake and prepare reports to inform decision-making.
Evaluate nutritional and caloric requirements based on animal condition and activity type, such as performance, reproduction, lactation, or nutritional deficiencies.
Conduct regular Body Condition Scoring.
Monitor hay, haylage, and project stock levels to ensure sufficient supply throughout the year.
Use specialized computer software to devise diets and generate reports.
Ensure feed facilities and water troughs meet standards.
Calculate and report feed efficiency (kg/hd/day) to maintain feed costs and achieve targets.
Perform other duties as required by management.
