Job Requirements
About you:
As the HSE Lead at Lochard Energy, you will be responsible for facilitating a positive safety culture in which people feel knowledgeable, empowered and supported to fulfil their obligations in relation to Health, Safety and the Environment.
Drawing on your significant front line, hands on HSE experience within oil and gas, mining or a Major Hazardous Facility (MHF), you are a strong problem solver who thrives in a varied role that is a blend of field and office-based activities. In addition you will have:
Proven experience leading an HSE function in a Major Hazardous Facility environment that requires focused risk management
Gas testing experience (Inert Atmospheres / BTEX / Ammonia)
Excellent stakeholder management and relationship building skills – being able to manage both "up" and "down"
An appetite and ability to work on multiple fronts – you must be able to move between operational and strategic work and move from advising to coaching to influencing modes easily
Intermediate to strong Microsoft Office skills as you use Word proficiently, create high quality PowerPoint presentations and use excel for HSE data reporting.
A well-developed understanding of HSE and OHS legislation, regulations, regulators and trends
Tertiary qualifications in HSE or similar discipline is desirable

Job Responsibilities
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of HSE, the HSE Lead role is based on site at Iona in Pt Campbell (Monday to Friday) and is effective across field operations and HSE Admin activities.
In addition to facilitating a positive safety culture you will manage and maintain site-based HSE systems such as Chemalert, Maximo and a suite of HSE policies and procedures, as well as act as a conduit and facilitator to the Senior HSSE Manager to ensure business HSE programs and improvement plans are successfully delivered at the site level.
Sitting on the Iona Leadership Team, working across a broad stakeholder group and managing relationships at all levels, you will partner with the Head of Iona, the Iona Ops Manager and their direct reports to provide on the ground support and advice on all HSE matters.

Key responsibilities
As an HSE Leader you will lead the site HSE and Iona LT meetings and follow-up on issues raised
Partner with various Project Managers from early development to execution phase (including HSE Plan development)
Being responsible for frontline HSE Support, you will coach and develop frontline leaders in good HSE practice
Spend time in the field / Occupational Hygiene support (Gas Testing)
Coordinate shutdown HSE planning
Oversee Contractors working on site to ensure compliance with HSE procedures, licenses and permits
Maintain the working HSE documents used by the site, ensuring they remain up to date and fit for purpose.
Oversee Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Substances management via CHEMALERT
Weekly / Monthly KPI and HSE Performance Reporting
Facilitate toolbox talks and other HSE training as required.
Develop Annual Emergency Response Exercise and Contractor HSE Forum Materials
