Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner – Family Relationship Centre

About The Role
As a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner at the Nowra Family Relationship Centre, you will work with families who have experienced separation and are unable to make parenting or property agreements independently. Your role involves providing mediation tailored to each family's needs, which may include child-inclusive practices, lawyer-assisted mediation, or online mediation. You will deliver high-quality dispute resolution services to help separating or separated couples develop and implement parenting plans and property settlement agreements.
This is a Permanent Part-Time position, 4 days per week, based in Nowra, with occasional outreach work in Ulladulla, Bega, and Mourya.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide Family Dispute Resolution for separated families, including parenting arrangements and property settlement.
* Utilize various models of joint family dispute resolution depending on the family's situation.
* Work within a child-focused setting, incorporating Child Inclusive Practice.
* Conduct comprehensive assessments for suitability, including screening for child safety, family and domestic violence, and mental health.
* Maintain accurate records of client data and statistics as required.
About You
* Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., law, behavioural sciences, or equivalent).
* Current NSW Driver's License and Working with Children's Check.
* Experience in counselling and/or mediation, especially with children and families.
* Accreditation or eligibility for accreditation as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner.
* Teamwork experience.
* Knowledge of family and domestic violence, including screening and safety assessments.
