Employment

This is a 12 month fixed term, full‑time position commencing January 2026 with possible extension.

The North Metro PEAC program provides supplementary courses for gifted and talented students in Years 5 and 6, as well as the Early Years Extension program for students in Year 1‑3. Classes are run at 8 school sites across the North Metropolitan region.

The North Metropolitan Regional Education Office (NMERO) supports the Department's priorities in Western Australia and commits to delivering a full and engaging standard of public education, supportive of students, teachers and parents. The NMER comprises more than 250 public schools across the north metropolitan area from Cottesloe to Lancelin and east to Wooroloo.


The Role

We are seeking a motivated and innovative individual to provide educational leadership to the PEAC team, including all teaching and support staff, in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Education. They will lead the development and implementation of a strategic plan that contains targets related to student achievement, along with the priorities and strategies to achieve them.

As the successful applicant, you will lead the teaching and learning program for the region's gifted and talented students in alignment with the general capabilities in the Western Australian Curriculum. Additionally, you will manage staff performance and development in accordance with the Public Sector Performance Management Standard and Departmental policy.

Eligibility

* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
* Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
* Hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia.
* Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

+ Demonstrated capacity to manage physical and financial resources.
