Mexicali Bar y Taqueria is a lively rooftop restaurant located in beautiful Nobby Beach with a reputation for quality modern Mexican food, drinks and hospitality.
About you:
You're already a Head Chef, or experienced Sous Chef looking to step up. You'll have a passion for delivering fresh and delicious food to our guests and, ideally, extensive experience with Mexican cuisine. We're looking for the following skills and attributes in the successful applicant:
* A passion for Mexican food
* At least 4 years experience as a Chef
* Team-focused, with at least 2 years experience in a leadership role with your previous kitchen team(s)
* Experience working in fast-paced and high-volume kitchens
* Advanced Food Safety and Compliance experience (qualifications would be advantageous)
* Computer savvy (i.e. Utilising existing set up company systems, ordering and emails)
* Reliable and trustworthy
* Meticulous approach to cooking and perfecting dishes
* Proactive approach to keeping the kitchen and kitchen areas organised and clean at all times.
* Great time management skills and work ethic
* Experience with rostering, ordering, stock control, food costing and liaising with suppliers
* A positive, collaborative approach to work and the rest of the team
* Ability to create new dishes for our menu
* Impeccable health and hygiene standards
* Availability to work a full-time roster
