Overview

An Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) opportunity exists at the EL 1 level within the Collins Class Submarine Life of Type Extension Project (LOTE). You will be part of a specialised team responsible for ensuring Australia's submarine capability remains operational beyond their initial life of type.

As the manager of the ILS section, you will be providing governance and assurance of the ILS program, responsible for guidance, planning and conducting materiel and logistics related acquisition tasks to ensure the Collins Class Submarines are supportable for their extended life of type.

The ILS Section supports the LOTE Project through:

- Developing and maintaining project ILS plans
- aligned to Defence policy and best practice
- to ensure the updates to the Collins Class Submarines are accompanied by updates to: training, sparing, maintenance and other facets of the Support System.
- Engaging and communicating with stakeholders (Navy, NSSG and Contractors) to identify, respond and provide advice.

About our Team

The Collins Submarine Program within the Naval Shipbuilding & Sustainment Group (NSSG) is responsible for the maintenance and programmed upgrade of Australia’s Collins Class Submarines. The Program works in partnership with the Royal Australian Navy and Industry to deliver the strategic submarine capability to the nation.

Our ideal candidate will be accountable for the below:

- Managing and leading a team, providing clear and consistent communication, setting clear performance and behavioural standards, managing performance and delegating responsibilities.
- Develop, implement and maintain policy, processes and systems to support the acquisition and sustainment of equipment in accordance with Defence requirements.
- Understand and apply organisational processes and procedures.
- Build and sustain relationships with key stakeholders at the strategic and operational level.
- Evaluate material logistics activities, understand critical factors for success and initiate activities to ensure alignment with project objectives.
