Job Overview:
The role of a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist involves performing radiographic and other diagnostic imaging procedures to assist healthcare professionals in diagnosing medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Greet patients and explain procedures in a professional manner
* Position patients correctly for diagnostic imaging procedures
* Implement radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure
* Analyze images, verify patient information, and prepare images for review by medical specialists
* Operate digital and non-digital diagnostic equipment while adhering to approved protocols and policies
* Collaborate with medical providers to administer prescribed treatments according to established guidelines
* Maintain equipment, identify malfunctions, and perform minor repairs as needed
* Manage records, logs, and reports related to work performed
* Provide administrative support as required
Requirements:
A minimum of an Associate's degree from a two-year college or equivalent is required. ARRT registration or board eligibility is preferred, along with state licensure. In some cases, Medical Assistant Certification, Practical Nursing License, EMT, or Paramedic certification may be accepted.
Qualifications:
This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience with medical equipment and software is also desirable.
