The Patient Transport Driver will work as part of the Northern Beaches Discharge team providing safe and timely transport of patients and contribute to the delivery of quality care and excellence in customer service.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing the passenger journey which includes preparing the vehicle for service, managing the passenger manifest using the NBH electronic driver recording system, safely transporting passengers to and from the hospital and returning the vehicle to hospital.
* Providing assistance to passengers including aiding patients to get on and off vehicles, loading wheelchairs and walking frames.
* Maintaining Safety and Compliance including completing vehicle inspection records and checklists, following safety procedures and reporting hazards.
* Maintaining a clean vehicle, ensuring the vehicle is sanitized between patient journeys and washed and vacuumed once per week in the hospital undercroft on the basement level, and restocking consumables on a regular basis.
Essential Criteria
* New or Australian NSW Drivers Licence.
* Ability to work seven days a week rotational roster including public holidays, early morning commencement and late evening completion time.
* Well developed basic literacy skills including reading and writing skills and demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Criteria
* Certificate of education / training in relevant field.
* Possession of a current senior first aid certificate.
* Demonstrated manual handling skills combined with proven ability to perform work of a physical nature including loading / unloading and maneuvering patients around on / off stretchers and in / out of wheelchairs and vehicles.

If you are successful in the role you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant experience against the current Healthscope NSW - Health Professionals $ Support Services Agreement - 2023 salary range between $29.07-$29.64 per hour plus shift allowance.
