About The Role
The Laboratory Assistant provides essential support to daily laboratory operations. This role ensures timely processing of specimens, maintains a clean and functional workspace, and assists scientists and laboratory staff to meet workflow and quality requirements.
Responsibilities
* Receive, label, and prepare specimens for analysis
* Support laboratory workflows by performing basic bench duties
* Maintain cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and consumables
* Monitor and restock inventory (e.g., reagents, disposables)
* Assist in routine equipment checks (temperature logs, QC support, etc.)
* Follow all laboratory safety and infection control procedures
* Accurately record data and assist with administrative tasks as required
* Escalate issues to senior staff when needed
About You
* Previous experience in a laboratory or healthcare environment (preferred but not mandatory)
* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to manage repetitive tasks efficiently
* Ability to stand for extended periods and handle specimen-related task
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
* Comfortable working in a fast‐paced and structured environment
* Demonstrates initiative and strong work ethic
* Maintains high professional and safety standards
* Certificate or qualification in Laboratory Techniques or a related science field
* Experience with specimen reception, pathology processes, or data entry
