Salary: Teacher, $88,178 - $127,737 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2023)

Position: Permanent full-time, commencing Term 2, 2026

Location: Bunbury Senior High School (SHS)

Bunbury SHS is perched on a hill overlooking both the cityscape of Bunbury and the extensive Bunbury beach front. It uses its location, extending the boundaries of the campus into the city, to provide students with a unique, rich learning experience in real‐world settings totally intertwined with the city itself.

Job Description

We are seeking an energetic and passionate teacher to join our high performing team as a Career Practitioner. The role includes a teaching component.

Responsibilities:

* Work with the school community to embed career development opportunities and exposure activities aligned to the school vision.
* Help students imagine and connect with future career aspirations.
* Communicate with students, staff, parents, training providers, employers and industry.
* Develop and deliver career education curriculum.
* Collaborate with teaching staff to link learning with real‐world experiences.
* Engage in positive culture and motivational environment for students.

Qualifications and experience:

* High level of knowledge about diversity of career pathways.
* Understanding of school contexts and relationships with local employers, community agencies and training providers.
* Completed Graduate Certificate in Career Development (desired).
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Strong teamwork and positive culture contributions.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers

Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school, may elect to undertake this role as a 3‐year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3‐year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.

Note that south west teachers are not eligible to move to another south west school under this trial.
