Overview
Consultants / Researchers: mid, senior- or principal-level — we are growing our NSW team in Armidale and Coffs Harbour and are seeking experienced environmental professionals to help deliver projects that shape policy, guide management, and create positive change.
At 2rog, we use our skills to tackle real-world water, landscape, and biodiversity challenges. We are looking for people who are excited to contribute to a collaborative, small-team environment and who want to grow their leadership, project management, and business development skills.
What you'll do
You'll play a significant role in our projects and the wider business, bringing your expertise to deliver great outcomes. Depending on your location and experience, you may lead teams, manage complex projects, and strengthen client relationships.
We'll support you to grow your leadership, project management, and business development skills — and like all 2rog people, you'll keep learning on the job.
* Writing: communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely for the client and project audience.
* Talking: advise clients, participate in meetings, facilitate workshops, give presentations, brainstorm, and collaborate.
* Collaborating: work across the organisation and with collaborators such as government agencies, NRM bodies, academics, and technical experts.
* Thinking and analysing data, reports, people, and situations; adapt to unique project needs.
* Being part of a team: contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented culture.
What we're looking for
We're seeking mid-, senior-, or principal-level environmental practitioners who want to contribute to our project work and growth.
Location : Armidale or Coffs Harbour (or willingness to relocate). We balance in-office presence with work-from-home options; regular local office attendance is expected.
Employment type : Full-time or part-time. We offer a 4-day working week for full-time staff with 100% pay.
Salary : Competitive package including profit sharing; details discussed at the right time.
Skills and experience
* Relevant environmental experience in private sector, government, or research; not strictly years of experience but the impact of your work matters.
* Three plus years for a mid-level consultant; eight plus years for a senior consultant; fifteen plus years for a principal consultant.
* Strong understanding of one or more: water and/or landscape science, planning and management, biodiversity conservation, environmental regulation and policy, program and policy evaluation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting (MER).
* Awareness of emerging opportunities and challenges in environmental and natural resource management, including nature-positive approaches and natural capital concepts.
* Ability to research, analyse, and interpret scientific/technical information and translate into practical solutions.
* Excellent writing and communication skills; ability to convey ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
* Initiative, proactivity, and ownership of work; strong client and team outcomes.
* Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills; GIS is helpful but not essential.
