About the "YES Program
The YES Coordinator will work with the Department of Education, Victoria Police, and The Orange Door to accept referrals for young people (10-17 years old) at risk of involvement in the Justice System.
The Coordinator will work with referred young people and their families to develop plans supporting engagement with sporting or community interests of their choosing.
This project is time-limited (until March 2027), funded by the Federal Government Department of Industry, Science and Resources. It sits within the Youth Crime Prevention team in the Western Region of Berry Street and collaborates with the MAST Project, funded by the Victorian State Government Crime Prevention strategy.
Your Skills and Experience
You will play a crucial role in establishing relationships with external providers, including community and sporting groups not typically engaged by the welfare sector.
Develop and Implement
Activity plans mapping available sporting and community activities in the Ballarat area.
Individual plans with young people and their families, outlining steps to increase engagement with community activities.
We seek an individual with a strength-based understanding, enthusiastic stakeholder relationship skills, and flexibility to work after hours on an ad hoc basis.
A Bachelor’s qualification in Community Development, Youth Work, or a related human services field is required.
