What's the job?
As a Mechanical Tradesperson (Mechanic), you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing plant, machinery, and mechanical systems across the resort to a high standard, ensuring guest experiences are not disrupted.
This role is ideal for a qualified mechanic with strong mechanical aptitude and some fitter experience, particularly with pumps and plant equipment used in sewerage treatment and reverse osmosis (R.O.) systems. You will work closely with other trades within Engineering and help keep critical infrastructure operating safely and reliably.

Your day-to-day
* Maintain, service, and repair mechanical plant and equipment across the resort
* Diagnose mechanical faults and respond to breakdowns efficiently to minimise downtime
* Replace, repair, and maintain pumps, motors, pipework, valves, and associated mechanical equipment
* Carry out maintenance and repairs on sewerage treatment plants, including pumps, blowers, screens, and associated mechanical components
* Perform maintenance on reverse osmosis (R.O.) plant and equipment, including high-pressure pumps, filters, membranes, and pre-treatment systems
* Assist with basic fitter and fabrication tasks as required
* Perform routine maintenance on water treatment pumps, filtration systems, and associated hardware
* Organise parts and consumables and ensure tools and equipment are ready for daily operations
* Complete daily and weekly maintenance records and job reporting
* Work collaboratively with other trades and contractors within Engineering
* Maintain high safety standards and report any incidents, hazards, or unsafe equipment to Engineering Management
What we need from you
* Trade qualification as a Mechanic (Heavy Vehicle, Light Vehicle, Diesel, or similar mechanical trade)
* Experience working with sewerage treatment plant and/or water treatment systems (highly desirable)
* Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills
* Pump replacement and repair experience (essential)
* Some fitter or fabrication experience (welding exposure beneficial but not essential)
* Working knowledge of industrial and domestic plant and equipment
* Comfortable using Microsoft Office, Email, and maintenance systems such as HotSOS or Hardcat
* Queensland Construction Safety Induction (White Card)
* Current Queensland Driver's Licence
* Physically fit – able to be on your feet for extended periods and perform manual handling tasks
* Strong communication skills – friendly, professional, and comfortable working in a guest-focused environment
