The NT Police Force focuses on proactive policing to reduce crime and keeping Territorians and their property safe and secure.
The Northern Territory's unique blend of cultural and geographic diversity presents both challenges and opportunities for policing and public service delivery. Approximately 30% of the Territory's population are Aboriginal people, with around 70% residing in regional and remote areas. Your leadership will set the strategic and operational direction of the Force, ensuring the right mix of skills, talent, and commitment across the organisation to deliver on policing goals and government priorities. You will provide authoritative advice to the Northern Territory Government on complex policy and operational matters, manage diverse stakeholder relationships, and champion innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement in service delivery.
This pivotal role requires a leader of integrity, vision, and resilience—someone capable of inspiring confidence, driving organisational excellence, and building strong partnerships to enhance community safety across the Territory. You will also demonstrate a proven track record of driving organisational change and operational innovation, and the skills necessary to manage complex projects, develop strategic plans and lead diverse teams and resources. High-level decision-making skills with the ability to navigate a complex, sensitive environment where choices impact community safety and engagement, and productive community engagement.
