We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Deputy General Manager – APAC to lead regional operations, drive program excellence, and deliver sustainable growth across a complex and dynamic portfolio.
To be eligible for consideration for this role - you must be able to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance. Further, you must be an Australian citizen.
About the Role
As Deputy General Manager – APAC, you will be accountable for the overall operational performance, program delivery, and financial management of Cubic Defence’s regional portfolio. Working closely with the General Manager- APAC, in addition to global leadership, you will translate strategic objectives into executable plans, ensuring alignment, efficiency, and customer satisfaction across all functions.
This role requires a high degree of autonomy, strong leadership capability, and the ability to influence at senior levels across the organisation, customers, and industry partners. In addition, we are seeking an individual who will be a professional ambassador for Cubic Defence globally, is prepared to drive cultural change, is transparent and authentic in all engagement and is willing to have hard conversations.
Further, this role requires a leader who is prepared to act up as General Manager -APAC as required but more importantly, is prepared to invest in this role for at least three to five years.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead operational execution across APAC in alignment with corporate and business segment strategies
* Translate strategic objectives into integrated operational and business plans across the region
* Oversee program performance including cost, schedule, resourcing, and delivery outcomes
* Drive cross-functional alignment across operations, engineering, program management, contracts, HR, and customer support
* Provide leadership and direction to senior managers, building capability and continue to develop and foster a high-performance culture
* Manage regional financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and achievement of financial targets
* Support business growth through capture activities, strategic partnerships, and customer engagement
* Maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders to ensure delivery excellence and long-term success
* Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements
* Identify and manage operational risks, implementing mitigation strategies and escalating where appropriate
* Represent Cubic Defence APAC with customers, industry, and government stakeholders
About You
You are a proven senior leader with extensive experience managing complex operations and delivering large-scale programs. You bring strong commercial acumen, a strategic mindset, and the ability to lead diverse teams across multiple geographies. You will drive business growth and be experienced across all project management cycles and across all defence portfolios.
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or related discipline
* Significant experience in senior operational or general management roles
* MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification (highly regarded)
* Experience in defence, aerospace, or a similarly complex, regulated environment (desirable)

* Strong strategic planning capability with the ability to translate strategy into execution
* Demonstrated success managing multi-functional teams and complex program portfolios
* Advanced financial acumen with accountability for budgets and performance targets
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including at executive level
* Proven ability to influence, negotiate, and build trusted relationships
* Strong analytical and decision-making capability in complex environments
* Track record of driving innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
