Area Chief Engineer Job
We are seeking a highly experienced and professional Area Chief Engineer to manage and oversee all aspects of property maintenance and improvements across our hotels.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role that will see you working closely with your team to plan and carry out preventative maintenance and general repairs throughout the hotel, ensuring the highest standards are maintained.
You will be responsible for overseeing refurbishment projects, preparing and submitting capex proposals, managing capex projects, and liaising closely with other departments to ensure minimal impact of repairs and maintenance on operations.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will also be required to train your staff and share your expertise to improve the overall team's skill set, coordinate external contractors, design and implement solutions to improve energy management and conservation, and prepare monthly maintenance reporting.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience as a Maintenance Manager or at least 5 years as a Building/Facilities Manager, trade qualification(s) are essential, and tertiary qualification in either electrical or mechanical engineering is highly desirable.
Previous experience in a large-scale hotel Engineering department is desirable, as well as experience in managing large scale capex projects, strong management and teamwork capabilities, previous experience with a PMS – Property Management System, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
A high level of communication skills, good command of written and spoken English, experience in administrative processes (e.g. budgeting, performance management), and experience in supervising a team are also essential.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and leadership skills, be extremely organized with good communication skills, detail-orientated with an aptitude for problem-solving, responsible and dependable, able to work under pressure, and able to follow tasks through to completion.
