We're looking for a Graduate Environmental Scientist to join our team in Tasmania and beyond. As a key member of our Contamination Assessment & Remediation team, you'll be involved in various projects that straighten out some of the world's biggest environmental challenges.
Job Description
As a Graduate Environmental Scientist, your primary responsibilities will include:
* Implementing environmental investigations with intermediate and senior staff, including field investigations, drilling (various rig types), monitoring well and soil vapour installation oversight, and coordination of environmental monitoring (soil, sediment, groundwater, soil vapour, surface water).
* Field oversight of contractors, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
* Assistance with project planning, including scope development, scheduling, and budgeting.
* Compilation and interpretation of data, as well as preparation of technical environmental reports for senior review.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have:
* A graduate degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science or equivalent.
* 0 to 2 years of experience in environmental consulting.
* A strong interest in chemistry, soil, groundwater, contamination assessment, and remediation methods.
* Knowledge of contaminated sites regulation and associated guidance, protocols, and guidelines.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant software tools.
* A valid full driver's license and comfort with long-distance and off-road driving.
